What is “Agape”?

Agape is a Greek word for love. The New Testament was written in Greek and when God moved men to write the pages of scripture, He chose the word “agape” to describe His love for us. Scripture says that “For God so loved (agape) the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) Why did God send Jesus into the world? Because He loved us. How do you know God loves you? Because “God shows His love (agape) for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) Jesus’ voluntary sacrifice of Himself on the cross is the ultimate demonstration of God’s infinite love for His children. God’s amazing love continues to work, helping us to love one another; “we love (agape) because He first loved (agape) us.” (1 John 4:19) And this is what we, at Agape Fellowship, strive to be. We are amazed at God’s infinite love for us and we seek to love one another as we have been loved.

There are more Mormons in the MatSu Valley than Baptists.

The MatSu Valley is the fasting growing region of Alaska and the young family center of Alaska.

I was born in Ketchikan, Alaska and raised in Juneau, which is where I developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for bringing God’s Word to people. I love living in Alaska, with all the best hunting, fishing, and outdoor activities it offers.  I grew up in a good Christian family with my dad as the associate pastor.  I knew about Jesus and the Bible from a very young age but it wasn’t until the age of 13 when I became keenly aware of my sins and my great need for the Savior.  It was then that salvation took place in my life.  It was at the age of 16 that I sensed God calling me into the pastoral ministry.  As the pastor of Agape Fellowship, I have the desired to serve and reach people in the MatSu Valley.

I grew up in Slovakia and moved to the US in 2010 when I married Nathaniel.
As Nathan started pastoring a church in Juneau, God led me to lead the people of that church in worship. During those years, God has grown me in many different ways. I basically taught myself how to sing and how to play piano just good enough to be able to lead the songs. And I have been learning and growing in music, worship and leadership since then.
We moved to Palmer in 2015 to plant Agape Fellowship and I’ve been serving as the worship team coordinator since then.
For as long as I can remember, worship was my passion. Praising God through songs has been one of my deepest callings.
