Who Do You Think You Are, Part II

September 9, 2012

Today, we continue to see a shift from mere hesitation about Jesus to outright opposition to Jesus. The conflict began when Jesus healed an invalid of 38 years on the Sabbath.  This action led to Jesus taking on the role of being Lord of the Sabbath, something that was an infringement on the characteristic of Jehovah, the God of the Old Testament.  Could this be a mistake?  Was Jesus confused or misquoted?  No.  Jesus goes on to not only confirm that this is exactly what He is intending for them to believe, but the very notions of all life and death will now intersect through Him.  There can be no doubt, Jesus is claiming an authority reserved to Jehovah God alone.  The claims that Jesus is making is either the words of a madman or Jesus can say what He says because He really is who He is.
